Preschool Update

Tanner is doing so well in preschool. He has such a wonderful and creative teacher. I wanted to share just a few of the fun activities he has done when I have been there in class helping.

Last week he had brought a few things for show and tell. The theme was the letter "U" so he brought an umbrella and a unicorn. It's pretty exciting when you get the show and tell bag for homework because everyone takes turns taking it home.

Recently there was a unit about community helpers. Lots of different visitors came to share about their jobs and how they help people. Tanner really liked it when the dentist came because he brought toothbrushes, toothpaste, flossers, and brushing timers for all the kids. One day Lowe's came and helped each of the kids build a firetruck to take home along with a work apron and safety goggles. Tanner said, "I bammed the nails on the firetruck!"

There was a really fun baking unit where they did so many fun things! Playing with baking tools in the sand:

A Papa Murphy's employee came to show the kids how to make pizza and they made a few to have for snack time. That was a huge hit! As you can see in the following picture Tanner is really enjoying the pizza.
At the end of the week Tanner brought home an apron, chef's hat, and box of (paper) donuts he decorated himself!

Each week he gets to choose a book from the lending library to bring home. His favorite one so far is "Day Out With Daddy" and he has chosen to bring it home several times.

He is having so much fun and learning a lot! I really think he has the best teacher (and teacher's aides) ever.
