Good thing we didn't have the kids with us, because we had only gone about 2 1/2 hours when our car started acting up. Before we knew it, we were stranded on the side of the freeway! Luckily we were able to reach our roadside assistance people, but we waited for about an hour and a half before a tow truck finally arrived.
Here's Brandon trying to describe our location- basically, in the middle of nowhere, Idaho.
I was thrilled to be stuck on the side of the road. Actually, I was just so grateful we didn't have the kids with us. It was too hot to sit in the car (it was dead so the AC wouldn't work), there were fields on one side of us and the freeway on the other. I can't imagine keeping our active and energic little ones out of trouble!
Finally help arrived. I was so happy that I pulled out the camera and took a picture. (Yes, I realize what a huge dork I am and I don't care.)
We were towed to the nearest town of Burley, Idaho where we got a hotel room and tried to figure out what to do next. The next day, we found out that the new alternator for the car wouldn't be arriving for a few days so we would have to leave the car and find a way home. After exhausting every available option, we still were stuck. My mom put my kids in my car and drove 3 hours to get us. Thanks Mom!! I know she had other things to do besides spend 6 hours in a car.

We were so sorry that you missed the trip, because believe it or not, we still enjoy seeing Brandon once in awhile.
I love that you took pictures, you are totally not a dork.
