Pumpkins!

When it came time to pick pumpkins I wanted to go as a family to the grocery store where they were on sale. Brandon talked me out of it. He said we needed to go to a real pumpkin patch and I am so glad we did! We had so much fun.
Right when we walked in, Katelyn ran over to this pumpkin and claimed it! She waited by it the whole time we looked around, patiently waiting for Tanner to pick one. In this picture of Tanner and Brandon below, you can see her in the background sitting by her pumpkin. :)
Tanner found just the right one!
We also picked up some pumpkins to paint. The kids loved that and did awesome.
Tanner also painted a pumpkin at school! Great job Tanner!!

When it came time to scoop out the pumpkins, Katelyn wasn't even getting close to the goopy insides. Suddenly she changed her mind and really got into it! The goo was everywhere.
The kids were a big help in carving. They were both set on using patterns for carving pictures, which we hadn't done before, but they turned out pretty good.

Tanner's is the ghost, and Katelyn's is the cat.

How fun! Maybe next year we will go to a pumpkin patch, that's a great idea! I love how the pumpkins turned out.

I don't think I ever went to a pumpkin patch when I was little...we always went to the grocery store. I was so deprived! Ha ha poor me. Looks like fun though! We always do the pattern things for carving - they're way cute. Nice job!
