Mystery...Solved?

So for the last couple of months there has been a sour smell in the kids' room. I have moved things around, felt the carpet for milk spills or stains, changed the bedding numerous times. I've made myself crazy trying to locate the source of this smell but gotten nowhere. Grrr!

A funny thing happened awhile back. I got up early to get ready for work and after getting out of the shower I peeked in on the kids. This is how I found Tanner, sound asleep:
Yes, there are his legs, on the ground UNDER the side rail. Such a funny little guy! If only I could sleep that well. Anyway, of course I had to snap the picture. We love it and laugh whenever we see it. Brandon likes it so much this picture has become the wallpaper for his computer login.

A few days ago I turned on the computer and Brandon was logged in. I saw this picture and kind of chuckled. I went to log out and go to my settings, but wait.....As I looked closer at the picture, my eye caught something I hadn't noticed before, even in all the times I'd seen the picture and shown it to family and friends. The camera had caught something not visible to me in all the weeks of searching the room.

On the wall as you look past Tanner there is something that has been spilled and dried as it dripped down. Could it be? Can this dried up, invisible something or other be the cause of this annoying and stinky problem? Abandoning the computer, I entered the room armed with the Lysol spray and tackled that whole area. I sat back and sniffed. Well all I could smell now was the lemony Lysol. Back to what I was doing.

Awhile later I entered the room. As I walked further in and toward the wall I inhaled deeply. Nothing!! No foul smell! I was almost brought to tears of joy at the lack of smell. How long has that milk been dried up drips on the wall? Way too long, but at least it's gone now.

Problem solved!

Wow Jess! Thanks for telling everyone our house smelled. You should have at least mentioned that you were the only one who noticed it. It's not like people were passing out as they walked into our house. Just wanted to clarify. :)

That picture is too cute. I have so many pictures of my kids sleeping it's not even funny. They are the best ones to take!! Isn't it frustrating when you are the only one who smells something & everyone else thinks you're crazy:) I bet it's a relief to have it figured out.
