Katelyn's Trip!

A couple of weeks ago, Katelyn got to go on a trip with her Grandma! My mom's BFF Helen who is living in California wanted my mom to go meet her in Boise for the weekend. Helen's son Jake and his family live there. Jake has a daughter Julia who is only a few months younger than Katelyn and they are really cute little friends. Katelyn and Julia don't see each other very often, but when they do they are such great friends! So...my mom wanted to take Katelyn on this weekend trip. They left on a Friday around lunch and didn't get home until Monday at bedtime. Katelyn had the greatest time. Not only did she NOT have to share Grandma (with TANNER), but they did so many fun things too!

The night they arrived in Boise. Katelyn and Julia ready for their first of 3 sleepovers.

The next morning, all cute and ready to play!

The girls with their most favorite sidekicks, Bunny and Mama Bear.

They went up to McCall, ID and spent awhile at the Lake.

Katelyn spent most of the day in the water swimming...

...took a break to play in the sand with Julia...

...and back to more swimming. According to Grandma, she was a little fishy! She kept swimming back and forth from the shore to the buoys. With a few flotation devices of course (even though it was pretty shallow in that area).

When she finally got out of the water to go home, she was cold and needed snuggled. Cute!

Packing up to leave.

They stayed at Helen's house in McCall that night and went on a train ride through the mountains in the area before returning to Boise.
These are the cute Grandmas with the cute girls!

Looks like so much fun!

Back in Boise they went to the Cheesecake Factory for a delicious lunch. They all shared a few slices of cheesecake and apparently the kids' favorite was the chocolate. The adults got talking for a few minutes and this is what they saw when they looked over at the 3 kids!

After lunch Katelyn, Julia, and Julia's little brother Owen went to Build-a-Bear.

She made an orange stripey kitty that she named Dinosaur Kitty.

Katelyn had a GREAT weekend. She was so busy she didn't even want to call us. I really missed her but I have to say it was a really relaxing weekend for me and Brandon. It was so nice to see her again. 3 nights away from us seemed like such a long time!
Thanks for taking Katelyn on a great adventure, Grandma!

How fun for Katelyn and Grandma! What a great memory for both of them to have! Isn't it so wonderful to live by parents?!?! When the girls were gone I think they called me more because they thought I needed to hear from them than anything. I called them because if they were upset and I hadn't called them, they would never forget it! It is such a relief when they don't need to call!

How fun! Your mom is the woman! You are too, my dear. I love the way pictures tell the visual story. Makes me want to go on a trip too!
